Statement of Faith

The Bible

The Bible, consisting of the Old and New Testament is inspired by God. As God’s word, it is completely true
and without error, and has final authority in our lives.

The Triune God

God is one God, yet he exists in three persons, God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit. God
is creator, king, ruler and sustainer of all things.

Jesus Christ

Jesus Christ, the Son of God, is truly God and truly man. He lived a perfect life, yet suffered the punishment
for human sin in his death on the cross. He rose from the dead, ascended into heaven and is coming again
as King and Judge. Christ willingly died for mankind to deliver us from the power and penalty of sin and to
reconcile us to God.

Holy Spirit

The Holy Spirit is God. He is given as a Helper to dwell within all those who believe in Christ. He comforts
us, guides us, and gives us strength and ability to honor, obey and know God. The Holy Spirit also gives us
spiritual gifts to serve in the church.

Humanity

Humans are created in the image of God. However, the first people sinned and rebelled against God,
resulting in spiritual death for all mainkind.

Salvation

God in his great love and mercy decided to save sinners. He made a way for us to be reconciled to God.
Jesus Christ became man, and suffered the punishment for our sins. Through faith in Jesus, his righteousness is
then transferred to our account. This means by God’s grace all our sins are forgiven and we can know God
and be with him for all eternity.

The Second Coming

At the end of this age, Jesus Christ will return. He will establish his kingdom in the new heavens and the new
earth. At the day of judgement all who have believed in Christ will receive eternal life and will live with and
enjoy God forever. All who have not placed their faith in Christ will live under eternal judgement.
