PROVIDENCE SCHOOL OF ARTS ANNOUNCES NEW SCHOOL PRINCIPAL

Nanette Flynn – Incoming School Principal

Kansas City, MO (July 21, 2023) — Rob Harris, President of Providence School of Arts Board of Directors, announced today that Nanette Flynn has been selected as the new Principal, effective July 1, 2023. Mrs. Flynn will replace Alisha Joyce who will be transitioning to part-time responsibilities as she and her family are expecting a new child this Fall. Mrs. Joyce will continue as an upper-school teacher.

“After our meeting with Mrs. Flynn, I was impressed with her career in education and consulting and believe her skills will help enable her to build upon Providence successes and position the school for future growth.”, says Rob Harris, Board President.

About Nanette Flynn

Nanette Flynn, a native of Racine, Wisconsin, attended John Brown University for Elementary Education. During her 14 year teaching career, she became a Missouri Mentor Teacher through UMKC, authored a classroom management curriculum entitled B.E.S.T, presented at International Teachers Conventions, and helped numerous children find success in the classroom.

Upon leaving the classroom, Nanette continued her work mentoring and coaching teachers and became the Assistant Director of the Kansas City Chief’s Cheerleaders. During her tenure, she developed successful youth programs for over 600 youth.

In 2006, Nannette founded Abundant Life Ranch and Destined to Win, a professional coaching business. This has allowed Nannette to help people all over the world to include Brazil, New Zealand, Canada, the United Kingdom, Jordan, Australia, Ireland, and the United States. Her expertise in effective communication skills allowed her to assist others in becoming the best version of themselves.

In 2020, she felt the call to go back to school for her Master’s Degree in Educational Leadership even though she had already became and was operating as a Master Life Coach. She received her Missouri Principal License in 2021 and is currently finishing her Doctorate in K-12 Educational Leadership. Her diverse career has provided her with a wealth of experiences in public and private schools, organizations, ministries, and with families.

When Nanette is not ‘cheering on’ others or grilling with her husband, kids and grandkids, you will find her twirling a baton, reading a book, relaxing on the beach, playing the drums, or spending time with her rescued horses.

Mrs. Flynn stated, ”It has been an amazing journey to watch how God orchestrated bringing me to Providence School of Arts. The passion for quality education that is based on a love for God and a love for artistic expression at PSA makes me feel proud and privileged that I have been given the opportunity to be a part of what is being built in this city, community, the PSA staff, families, and students. I am looking forward to an exciting school year at Providence.”

Executive Director Marcus Oatis was elated with the board approval of this hire. “When I met Nanette, I was encouraged and inspired by her passion for education, the arts, and the Gospel – all the things that make us who we are. I look forward to seeing how God is growing our school in the coming year and I am rejoicing as we welcome Nanette to the Providence community!”
